Livestock farming is common, and the city is famous for local dishes like Bannu Beef Pulao, halwa, and Kohati Karahi. Naswar, a traditional smokeless tobacco, is another unique local product. The city is an important commercial hub for surrounding tribal areas, with bazaars and markets connecting farmers, artisans, and traders.
